The output and efficiency of gas turbines are reduced significantly during the summer. Gas turbine inlet air-cooling is considered a simple and effective method to increase the power output as well as thermal efficiency. Among various cooling schemes, fog cooling (a direct evaporative cooling) has gained increasing popularity due to its simplicity and low installation cost. During fog cooling, water is atomized to micro-scaled droplets (or mist) and introduced into the inlet airflow. The inlet air temperature is reduced through water evaporation.
